The evolution of time and the development of technologies has created a new projected image of humankind. We must view ourselves not only with and in technology, but also of technology. To be digital is not to use digital, but to let it assist and guide us. Find three iterations of a technological development and recombine them, creating a viable permation worthy of self-representation.

Evolution, in my humble opinion , is the force most intricately linked to the passage of time. The most fundamental catalyst to the process of change is an object’s presence in a space and time-to endure through that space as a conitinium of time.
Our generation has seen the temporal shift much quicker than any previous mainly through the evolution of technology. The development of computing technology has allowed daily activities to be assistted or manipulated with a shift keystroke or simply plugging-in a ready-made device.
As a collection of ready-mades began to be assembled in a collection of cyborg suitcases the deconstruction and re-evolution began to re-interpret our images of time and the temporal. The temporary? Ready-unmades?
My personal quest was to reassemble our conventional notions and recollections of time and recombine them to better understand the timelessness of our constant manipulation and justification of time as a reflection of ourselves. This was approached as a series of three timely manipulations.


THE PORTABLE SUN.
The ancients used the sun to measure time. Even today we use the sun to measure our day, consciously or sub-consciously. An ideal creation of self-portaiture would be the measuremen t of our own shadow to find meaning in a temporal justification, or rather mearly what time of the day it is. this interactive sun dial allows the user to place the power source of the sun in unreal time. what would it be to measure the time of the day by the shadow of the sun cast upon itself? I may speculate to the lack of a shadow.

REJUVINATION THROUGH PAST INNOVATIONS.
A technological generation ago time was measured without the assistance of electricity. The wind-up alarm clock fills one with such images of a bedside tradition of our grandmothers and grandfathers. Have you ever dreamed of re-living a moment in life, to be stuck in that “Groundhog Day” repetion to acheive the perfect day? This second in the series allows one to turn back the hands of time with the flip of a switch, in turn, rejuvinating the windable to cause time to catch up.

THE VIEWMASTER TIMEMACHINE.
A subtle tinkering of the 75 year-old children’s toy this composite replaces a Hansel and Gretel story board with a digital clock LED capable of spawning adventerous recreations throughout time. Interactive, hand-held, immersive.
