definition:
Advancement represents society. From Railroads to cell phones, humans have envisioned a new technological future. How does a member of the present society recognize the entire timeline of achievement?
Surrealists toyed with the idea of collage to represent a normalcy in all our lives, yet alluded to a deeper questioning of human nature and metamorphosis.
Explore a surrealist collage dealing with technology from present, past, and possibly future achievements, in order to form a new generation of human activity and advancement.
desription:
How do cyborgs use Body language? How will they communicate?
Communication is one of humans most important actions. With technology how will communication be enhanced in reference to the body and the singular human. This project deals with the most basic denominations of communication and speech.
Recognition: The Motion sensor of the robot, responds to the oncomer and supplies power to the remaining parts of the robot such as the fan and the other recognition device, the "eyes". These green flat nightlites are triggered when the motion sensor is triggered and allows the approaching person to view that the robot is ready to communicate.
Body Languge/ Movement: The fan movement back and forth represents the head shaking of a human subject, this is perhaps the failure and the point of the project, the canned response and head nod is the robot's only recourse and any other response would have the same head movement. Shaking his head is also accompanied by the attached surgical tubing, which is meant to provide a more human wiggle to the neck and head.
Speech: When the answering machine is triggered a voice or recording speaks and the robot gives his response.
Thought: He knows that he can't go as planned, but he slightly slips up and almost goes. What he doesn't know is that he doesn't have legs...........yet!!!
