Daniel Belcher graduated with an MS-Arch in Design Computing from the UW in June 2008. His interests include Spatial Cognition, Computer Graphics, Augmented Reality (AR) and Tangible Interfaces, Computer Support Collaborative Work, Environmental Modeling and Sustainable Architecture.

Dan is also a member of the Human Interface Technology Laboratory (http://www.hitl.washington.edu) at the University of Washington, where he works on various applications of Augmented Reality and Tangible Interfaces in Human Computer Interaction.

He received his Bachelors in Cognitive Science and Philosophy, magna cum laude, from Brown University in 2002. At Brown, he was a member of the Virtual Environment Navigation Lab (http://www.cog.brown.edu/Research/ven_lab/), where his undergraduate honors thesis focused on the "Behavioral Dynamics of Steering and Obstacle Avoidance" in fully-immersive virtual environments.

Dan joined the Design Machine Group in Fall of 2006, working with Brian R Johnson. He remains actively involved in the DMG and in AR while working for a Seattle architecture firm.
