Brian Johnson is an associate professor in the Department of Architecture. His interests include computer supported collaborative work (CSCW) tools for small groups, digital support for design decision making in both co-located and distributed situations, and design-computing pedagogy.
Brian received the ACADIA (Association for Computer Aided Design in Architecture) Award for Excellence in Research for 2002.
He received his B.S. in Physics and Math., summa cum laude, from the University of Puget Sound, and his Master of Architecture from the University of Washington.
Brian is an active member of ACADIA, serving as Site Coordinator for ACADIA'95 (Seattle), as ACADIA webmaster from 1997-99, as webmaster for the ACADIA Online Competition in1998, as President from 1999-2000, and as a Steering Committee member in various years. He is also a member of ACM.
