in 2006 Kat completed the 1-year MArch degree focusing on lighting and applied to the MS. In 2008, as a member of the DMG, she completed her MS, under the direction of Mehlika Inanici and Brian R Johnson. Kat's research is centered on High Dynamic Range photography and Image Based Rendering, both of which connect to her interests in lighting and design computing.
Kat also worked at the Integrated Design Lab as a Research Assistant, doing architectural daylighting and electric lighting analysis.
