Mamoun Sakkal is an instructor and Ph.D. student in the Near and Middle Eastern Studies program. His interest is computational descriptions of geometry in Islamic art and architecture. In 2001, he taught a course on this subject using the FormWriter programming language to describe ribbed domes, star ribbed domes, and muqaarnas. The course can be viewed at:
